Alerts can be used to monitor speeding, idling, after hours, zone violations, and many other things in the NexTraq system. Once alerts are created, you do not have to delete the rules to stop the emails. Say you are going on vacation and do not want to receive email alerts on your iPhone while you are lounging on the beach, but you still want employees to be held accountable when you return… Not to worry! Simply disable the alert temporarily. Go to Alerts > Summary. Select the desired alert. Make sure the check box next to “Enabled” is NOT selected.
The Location Report in the NexTraq system is a great tool to see how many times a vehicle has entered a Location over any time period. First, go to Reports > More Reports > Location.
You must enter:
Select “View Report” when ready.
Then, you will see the vehicle name at the top of the report, the Time the incident began, the Driver assigned to the vehicle at that time.
This report is slighly different than the Location Summary report (below)
The Location Summary will tell you which vehicles entered each Location. You will see the total hours spent inside of that location, total moving hours, stopped hours, idle hours, sensor hours, and stops in total. This report is more useful when you want to analyze a Location, rather than a Driver’s activity.

Once a route is created in NexTraq, you can quickly compare the suggested route to a vehicle’s actual activity. Go to Routes > Summary. Next to the desired Route, select the icon for “Compare.”
Did you know you could adjust map layers on your NexTraq map? In the Find tab, select the “Map Layers” section. Select one of the default layers of Counties, Cities, or Zip Codes. Select an opacity level, and select “Update Map.”
The Find tab in the NexTraq system holds the Live Map. This map, by default, is updated every 2 minutes. To update this manually, go to the Controls/Settings. you may choose a new Refresh Interval, or Refresh Now. This will NOT adjust the download interval of your devices; it will simply display the most current data point received from the devices.
If you have many vehicles displayed on your map and you would like to start over, you can select Clear Map. This will remove all devices, locations, and any other markers from your map.

NexTraq allows users to create rules based on many different criteria. One very popular rule is the ‘Roll Call’ alert. This rule will send out an email as each vehicle is first used for the day, so you can quickly determine if anyone is running late. To begin, go to the Alerts tab. Select “Create Alert.”
Name this Alert ‘Roll Call,’ and the type will be ‘First Movement.’ Select which vehicles you would like to monitor, and how many days a week this rule should be active.
The Email Subject can be customized in the drop down list. Enter as many email addresses as you’d like, seperated by commas. Then, select Save Alert.

The Metrics tab in NexTraq is a new feature designed to help users gauge the performance of their fleet. These graphs can be generated instantly using default goals, or with the company-wide goals. Users can see which areas are needed for improvement, which vehicles are on the Mobile Watch List, and which drivers should be rewarded for great driving practices. To begin, go to the Metrics tab. Then, enter a Time Frame. Select your vehicles to compare, and then enter you Goals. Select Apply to generate the graphs
In the graph below, you can see that overall, our fleet reached it’s goal of driving less than an average of 50 miles per day. However, there is one vehicle on the Mobile Watch List that exceeded this goal.
This is a great tool to compare vehicles, departments, and overall fleet performance.
